France, Saint-AubinThe Jean-Claude Bachelet et Fils estate finds its origins in the middle of the 17th century when Pierre Bachelet was cultivating vines in Chassagne-Montrachet. Today, Jean-Claude and his sons Benoit and Jean-Baptiste exploit this heritage. The approach is traditional, from the cultivation of the vine to the vinification and maturing of the wines. Perpetuating the family heritage and making wines that express their land of origin is the guiding principle of the estate. The estate extends over 10 hectares in the vineyards of Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet. A long, rigorous and meticulous work is carried out in the vineyards with in particular an important work of the soil and the practice of a reasoned viticulture in the noble sense of the term. The Bachelet family makes no compromises when it comes to viticulture, because it is first and foremost in the vineyard that the quality of the wine is at stake with healthy grapes and moderate yields. The Jean-Claude Bachelet et Fils estate has more than 20 different climates. In the cellar, the interventions are limited to a work of accompaniment in order to best respect the identity of each terroir. Fermentations are slow and with indigenous yeasts.
