Domaine Dupré-Goujon

France, Saint-Lager

This estate was born from the meeting of two young enthusiasts, Guillaume Goujon and Sébastien Dupré, who wanted to become winegrowers in their native land in Côte de Brouilly. After studying viticulture and oenology, they left to work for ten years with other winemakers such as Domaine de Montcalmès and Oratoire St-Martin. They took over Sébastien’s uncle’s estate in 2015, in the Côte de Brouilly appellation, with plots of land on the south and east faces of Mont Brouilly, in organic conversion. Their credo is to work as naturally as possible, and both in the vineyard and in the cellar, no synthetic products or chemical inputs are used. On the three terroirs, the sandy-clay soils from blue stones in the middle of the slopes expose gamay vines aged between 30 and 50 years old. From these, they shape vintages with matter and elegance. The two companions promote biodiversity in the vineyards with an agro-ecological approach and organic certification in 2020. They favour natural vinification with partially de-stemmed grapes, long semi-carbonic maceration in vats and spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. The final result is a crisp, fresh wine, full in volume and finesse.
