Tenuta di Bibbiano

Italy, Castellina in Chianti

Located in the historic Chianti region, Bibbiano overlooks the Val d’Elsa and benefits from an exceptional terroir. Since 1865, the Marrocchesi Marzi family has been cultivating vineyards and olive groves, continuing a family tradition now in its fifth generation. Tommaso and Federico Marrocchesi Marzi currently run the estate, combining modernity and tradition. The Bibbiano vineyards cover 30 hectares at altitudes ranging from 270 to 310 meters. The clay soils, rich in Alberian rock, are ideal for growing Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Malvasia Nera and Trebbiano grapes. Each of the estate’s slopes brings unique organoleptic characteristics, enabling the production of balanced, elegant wines. Tommaso and Federico are guided by a simple philosophy: “Respect for nature and reverence for its wisdom: these are Bibbiano’s core values. We aim to produce our wines solely according to the laws of nature. “Since the late 80s, Bibbiano has adopted organic farming practices, using only products with low environmental impact and organic fertilizers. The estate favors harmony with nature, integrating sustainable methods and a photovoltaic system to meet 70% of its energy needs. Viticultural traditions, combined with the innovations of Pier Tommaso Marzi and Giulio Gambelli, have made Bibbiano wine a true cultural heritage. By respecting the laws of nature and applying traditional winemaking techniques, the estate produces authentic, refined wines that reflect its exceptional terroir. A must discover estate!
