Gini

Italy, Monteforte d’Alpone

The Gini family has been cultivating vines in the Monteforte region, in the heart of the Soave appellation, since the 17th century. It is one of the oldest winemaking families in the region and without a doubt a leader in the practice of organic viticulture. In 1985, the family elaborated its first sulfur-free cuvée and thus revolutionized the method of winemaking. This makes it possible to elaborate pure, precise wines that truly reflect the terroir of Soave’s area of origin. Respect for nature, listening to the terroir and the specificities of each vintage are at the very heart of the estate’s concerns. For the Gini family, the production of quality wines with a minimum of handling in the cellar is a family tradition of which the brothers Sandro and Claudio are today the proud standard bearers. The Gini family’s garganega vineyards, located on the slopes of Monteforte, are exceptionally old. With an average age of 80 years and several plots of land over 100 years old, the old vines produce in small quantities very high quality grapes with unique organoleptic properties. The estate also cultivates Pinot blanc, Durella, Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Pinot noir. Each grape variety is carefully cultivated and perfectly adapted to its terroir to produce wines of unparalleled finesse and elegance in the Soave appellation.
