Domaines Bunan

The story of Domaines Bunan begins with Paul and Pierre’s winemaking grandparents, Félix and Lucie, and continues today with Françoise, Claire, Laurent and Philippe, who carry on the family tradition. In 1954, Paul heard about Bandol in a gazette, and in 1961, the two brothers laid the foundations at La Cadière d’Azur. In 1969, Pierre bought Château la Rouvière, and in 1978, they reconstituted the Bélouvé vineyard. Together, these three distinct terroirs form a single entity: Domaines Bunan. For over 50 years, Domaines Bunan, founded by Paul and Pierre, has stood proudly in the heart of the renowned Bandol and Côtes-de-Provence vineyards. Under the expert direction of the family’s third generation, this estate continues to dazzle with a range of wines that celebrate the essence of their terroir. Benefiting from a privileged location with plenty of sunshine and stony soils, the Bunan family exploits a unique geological diversity, inherited from lands once planted with olive, apricot and almond trees. In 2008, the family adopted organic viticulture for each of their vineyards – from Moulin des Costes to Château la Rouvière and Bélouvé. The grapes, grown without chemicals under the management of agronomist Philippe Bunan, reflect the purity of their environment. The reds are renowned for their depth, the rosés for their elegance and the whites for their aromatic finesse. Respect for and attachment to the terroir naturally guided the family towards organic farming, believing that a happy vineyard produces the best grapes. In creating their wines, the Bunan family demonstrate an authentic philosophy, respecting traditions to pass on a profound heritage. Each oak barrel is named after a member of the family, bringing this heritage to life. Their credo: to create emotion and share their love of the land through every bottle.
