Stoss Lee
Canada, BloomfieldStoss Lee was born in 2016, when siblings Zoe and Kyle Marshall Nares fell in love with a small, forgotten piece of land on Gilead Road in Prince Edward County, Ontario. An old dairy farm, abandoned land… but for them, immense potential. At a time when it was still possible to buy farmland without a fortune, they decided to write their own story there. Very quickly, the site imposed its identity: a glacial hill with two slopes — the Stoss and the Lee — composed of gravel, clay, and sand. A rare geological formation, so distinctive that it gave the estate its name. Zoe shaped a decidedly artisanal and low-intervention approach: native yeasts, minimal oak, no herbicides, permanent cover crops, and extremely light use of fungicides. The goal is clear: let the terroir speak. “We aim for pure, mineral, ethereal wines that reflect the limestone soils and the cool climate of Ontario.” Today, the vineyard cultivates Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Melon de Bourgogne, complemented by cool-climate grapes sourced from other producers in PEC and the Niagara region. Alongside the wines, Zoe also produces small batches of bold ciders, co-fermented, blended, or aged on grape skins. Stoss Lee represents the meeting of modernity and craftsmanship, intuition and precision. A young, free-spirited estate, deeply rooted in its landscape, crafting wines that are elegant, vibrant, and true to their land.
