Italy, GuigliaTerraquilia was born from an idea and from the ambition of Romano Mattioli to pay homage to the wine-growing heritage left by his father Arturo. It was when he decided to begin his journey as a winemaker, by settling in the Conca d’oro di Guglia farmhouse, that the idea was passed on to the vineyard. At an altitude of 490m between the hills and the castle of Guglia, the vineyard comes to life. Vines adapted to the territory were planted in 2004, and in 2007 the first harvest were successful. All work in the vineyard and in the winery is manual, reflecting the values of Arturo passed on to Romano. In 2009 the Terraquilia brand was born, paying tribute to the old appellation of this place. The vineyard, which has evolved over time, is now divided into three farms and specializes in the production of authentic sparkling wines using the ancestral method, as well as a variety of still wines. Nevertheless, the modus operandi remains the same, creating wines that reflect the image of the land and nature, minimizing the impact of cultivation on the environment and offering pure and natural wines with no added inputs. This vineyard is a real organic and natural jewel of the province of Modena.
